AFTER WORK SMASH SESSION
This class is for the people working a 9-5 job each day who need to vent their work stress away in a healthy manner. AFTER WORK SMASH SESSIONS will achieve this with specialised training methods allowing the stress and anger and any negative emotions to melt away. We will be using martial arts and strength & conditioning methods to help you to head home feeling completely refreshed, with a positive mindset able to enjoy your evening and sleep peacefully. Ultimately leading to a range of important health benefits.
H.I.I.T TABATA CHALLENGE
For everyone at any level of fitness or technique progression levels who want to become stronger, healthy and super fit.
Each session is different from the last so your body will never know what to expect. By continually “shocking ” the body you will achieve the best results possible and reach new personal bests in no time. The TABATA is traditionally 20 seconds of intense work followed by a 10 second rest throughout all 8 exercises. Total time of each round is 4 minutes. TABATA training was created by Japanese scientist Dr. Izumi TABATA to help athletes reach their full potential and the 20 sec 10 sec gave them the best results. I often play with the times and put specific exercises in for everyone involved. The limited number classes are never boring and produce fast recovery rates, perfect for all athletes and people in general.
FIGHT GONE BAD
is a group session of exercises performed repeatedly for 5 minutes with participants attempting to achieve higher quality reps under fatigue. This fitness structure was created to simulate the experience of training to step into MMA cage fighting and to help participants realise the fitness requirements required under the challenging environment of the cage. Without any rest during the 5 gruelling 5 minute rounds, you will be challenged mentally and physically. These sessions whilst challenging are great fun and provide you with insight and appreciation of just how fit you need to be to become a champion.
MUSCLE & MARTIAL ARTS STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
Developed to be for the comp fighters to get them ready for their perspective combats but works even better for anyone just looking to push through challenges. Classes consist of either 3 MMA techniques or mixed with functional exercises specific to athletes but easily learnt by anyone when all done with willing training partners for 5 minutes rotating through all 3 over that time. Then training partner does their 5 minutes. Once they have finished they repeat the process for 4 minutes each then 3 minutes, 2 minutes and lastly 1 minute sprint at the end. 30 minutes all up with both sides doing 15 minutes of the 3 exercises each.
BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU
“The gentle art” was Developed in Japan as a way to defend against armed attackers when being unarmed, then was transformed into what we know now as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by Helio and Carlos Gracie in Brazil. An art developed with the intention of equipping smaller people to defend themselves against a larger adversary by using leverage, and proper techniques. Becoming famous through MMA phenomenon UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) by Royce Gracie it has taken over the martial arts world. Here at Muscle & Martial Arts is a South Australian associate club of Will/Machado BJJ Australasia founded by John Will who is part of the “dirty dozen” first 12 non Brazilians to receive a BJJ black belt under the teachings of Rigan Machado and his brothers who are connected to the Gracie family through marriage. Both are regarded as the best instructors of BJJ walking the planet. If you would like to learn this very addictive and effective art in a safe, respectful and fun environment with a dedicated belt curriculum and direct lineage to Helio and Carlos Gracie. BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU NO-GI
No-Gi BJJ is for the people who want to compete in the many grappling and MMA competitions around Australia. Classes are designed to teach BJJs ever evolving transitions, escapes, joint locks and chokes that work on the mats, in the cage and on the streets. Come learn how to survive the offence when you need too then control the situation and attack when the time is right.
Is a martial art taught under world Silat champion JOHN WILL which is a hybrid of Indonesian Silat and other disciplines like wrestling, taekwondo and karate creating a martial art for both street and the MMA cage. This is a belt driven martial art that connects the stand up to the ground controlling the fight from there. Muscle & Martial Arts head instructor Johny Wheadon is a 1st degree BLACKBELT under John Will and is very passionate about teaching others the martial arts that changed his life for the better.
MIXED MARTIAL ARTS
Made famous by Royce Gracie in the UFC Mixed Martial Arts has become the fastest and most watched sports on the planet with all styles of martial arts mixed together striking, grappling and ground fighting competing in a locked cage, winning by means of knockout, submission or judges decision. Come try it out for yourself in a fun, specialised and structured environment. MMA is not just for the cage competitors but for anyone at any fitness or technique level who wants to be apart of this epic sport. With lineage connecting to world leading MMA instructors and UFC fighters through out each year to keep up to date with the best teachings on the planet and get to meet the people who do this at the highest levels.
KIDS BULLYPROOF BJJ
BULLYPROOF BJJ is a kids version of BJJ and MMA teaching kids 6 years old to 14 years of age how to firstly react in a situation but how to control themselves with discipline to control a attackers movements until help arrives. All techniques are safe and fun so kids will enjoy and think of them as games and other family members can enjoy them as well as your child progresses through the games. At the start of each class they will be required to do any homework given by their school teachers and will keep in contact with teachers to re progressing at school if they don’t keep their marks at a good standard they can not train. With a fun animals body weight inspired fitness session they get fit and have fun pretending to be all kinds of animals which helps with learning BJJ movements.
The Morning Mobility class is designed as a great recovery session to loosen up d.o.m.s from the nights classes and produces more functional mobility keeping your joints and ligaments strong and healthy with balance, core and dynamic exercises at the end and joined with a great healthy breakfast creates a perfect start to your day and giving you the energy and mental focus to be able to tackle the day ahead.
FEMALE MMA BOOTCAMP
For all the females who want to train like a fighter learn some mixed martial arts and being a morning class you get it all done before lunch time get togethers. Great for mothers to do after dropping their kids off to school to energise your mind and body to tackle the rest of the day. If your looking to compete on the mats, ring or cage this class will get you there or even just give you some knowledge in self defence and build the fighter body that looks great but can go all day long.
WEEKEND WARRIOR SESSIONS
This class is for the people who want to train like a warrior on Saturday mornings a mix of everything we teach but in a more BOOTCAMP style. These classes will be challenging but in a fun group environment, like all of the classes here at Muscle & Martial Arts are all different from the last to promote rapid results and never becomes boring. Road trips to the snake pit at semaphore beach and the mt lofty walking trail are constant throughout the year and are used as challenges to push yourself to another level of fitness and health.
PRIVATE LESSONS (GROUP OR 1 on 1)
These lessons are the V.I.P versions of everything taught at MUSCLE & MARTIAL ARTS in the most detail and learn some secrets not taught in normal classes that I have learnt over my long muscle & martial art journey from some of the greatest martial artists in the world. If you rather learn things in more depth and on your own terms booking private lessons is for you. REMEDIAL, DEEP TISSUE AND TRIGGER POINT MASSAGE
A upstairs massage room has been introduced to give clients even more options and opens the mind and body connection even more. You have the ability to choose either. Remedial massage for relaxation, deep tissue and trigger point massages for health, mobility and rehabilitation.
ONLINE MIND AND BODY CONNECTION PROGRAMS
Designed for people who can’t get down to MUSCLE & MARTIAL ARTS in person and want to improve aspects of their lives. The goal is to unleash the “INNER WARRIOR” using hypnosis, and mind and body techniques to overcome many types of mental hurdles that may prevent participants from becoming the best version of themselves that they truly deserve to be.
